School Council Achievements
Raising Awareness of Homelessness
Ryan, Hope and Jayden of year 6 decided to raise awareness to homelessness by creating a poster and placing them around school. They then decided to host a non uniform day in March with all money raised going to The Salvation Army. The total raised was £346.57. A big thank you goes to the three boys and everyone who donated. Below is the poster that they designed.
Loom Band Sale
A group of year 6 children had a loom band sale to raise money for charity. The donations they collected were split between animal lifeline and Douglas MacMillan. Below is an email from Animal lifeline thanking us for the donation;
Dear Mrs Preston
Please pass on our thanks to the staff and pupils at Gladstone Primary for the kind donation of £18.69p, which is very much appreciated. Without the support of caring people like you we just couldn’t help so many needy dogs.
Thanks for thinking of us, and a very happy New Year to you all.

A huge well done to everybody that made a donation and helped Gladstone to raise such a fantastic amount of money. Thank you.
During the Summer Term Nelson Mandela School organised their Annual Inter House Sports event which was even covered by Nigerians National Television and showed six tmes on Nigeria National Networks Services. Here are some pictures from the event.
The School Council worked together to come up with ideas to help to raise money for the Guide Dogs for the blind.
Each class came up with different ideas ranging from Fun runs to Sponge throwing. In total Gladstone managed to raise
over £1,300 which was a fantastic total and will do a long way in supporting a great charity. Many thanks to all children that took part.
Here are some of the dogs that have been supported by our donations.
